Ex. due to the works for the M6 Metro Highway (Chitila, Bucure\u0219ti Noi and D\u0103m\u0103roaia) led to the suspension or change of some routes. Thus, three tram lines were suspended: 3, 24 and 45 and two tram lines were established: 42 and 53. The new tram line 42 operates between "Vasile Parvan" and "Pia\u0163a Presei", and tram line 53 between the terminals "Meze\u015f" and "Cartier D\u0103m\u0103roaia".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, other lines have been changed for better efficiency and to be able to capitalize on the advantages offered by the new electric buses\/trolleys. Bus 336 and tram 61, which had a common line for more than half of the route, were merged. The line now bears the number 61, but the route, with a small deviation in Cotroceni, is that of line 336 (including the two ends of the line). Also in Militari, Complex Comercial Apusului, where only 336 ended, became a transport hub. Line 178 has been shortened and now ends at Apusului (the route is between this complex and Sala Palatului). So was line 136, it was shortened and changed. The current route is CET Vest-Complex Apusului.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the last three years, Bucharest City Hall has bought 100 trams, 100 electric buses and 100 trolleybuses. They are ecological (electric or hybrid), have low consumption and provide much better conditions for travelers. For example, the Solaris Trollino 12 trolleybuses are from the 12 m long range, have a fully lowered floor, space for wheelchairs for disabled people, are equipped with a vehicle management computer with GPS functions, an audio-video information system, air conditioning and have a minimum autonomy on batteries of 20 km. This autonomy allows STB to use them including on areas (route parts) where no wires are installed for trolleybuses (in this case, they go in bus mode).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
