Baisoara - the most important resort in the north of Apuseni

The potential of the Baisoara area is fantastic, especially for practicing winter sports. Located at an altitude between 1,200 and 1,400 meters, Baisoara is the most important resort in the north-east of the Apuseni. Also, in the entire northwestern area of Romania, there is no other location so suitable for skiing. The first university ski cup was organized here. Unfortunately, after 1990, since there was no tourism plan for the promotion of the Apuseni, Baisoara was left in ruins.
Only in the last three years, the county authorities drew up a project to rehabilitate the resort. These include the restoration of the access road, the construction of a 500-space parking lot (almost non-existent facility), the construction of several hundred cabins, the repair of the alleys, the expansion of the water network. |in terms of winter sports, the arrangement of two ski sections with a length of 3.4 kilometers and a difference in level of almost one kilometer, addressed to all age categories, has already been thought of. The parties will have cable installations with a capacity of 1,000 people per hour, and the authorities are thinking of buying an artificial snow installation. At Poiana Iancului, located at the end of the current part, a complex will be located, consisting of a restaurant, accommodation spaces connected to the water and sewage networks, parking lots. In the area, numerous institutions have built cabins, and the main accommodation space was bought by a private entrepreneur, who invested in the renovation and equipment to European standards.
